On 6-10 November 2013 an international conference on "Current trends in archaeological heritage preservation: the national and the international perspectives" was held in in Iaşi City known as cultural capital of Romania and considered symbol of the country's history.

On 6-10 November 2013 an international conference on "Current trends in archaeological heritage preservation: the national and the international perspectives" was held in in Iaşi City known as cultural capital of Romania and considered symbol of the country's history. Main organizer of the conference is Iaşi branch of Romanian Academy, Institute of Archaeology. The project is implemented in collaboration with European Association of Archaeologists; Department of History of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași; Moldova National Museum Complex- Union Museum; National Museum of Romanian History, Bucharest. Azerbaijan was represented at the conference with two reports from delegation of MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage.
In the opening part report on ‘International developments in archaeological heritage resource management’ by Professor Willem J.H. Willems, faculty of Archaeology, Holland; ‘Symbolic Wars’ by Claire Smith, World Archaeological Congress; ‘Tourism and Economics at Heritage Sites: Local and Global Perspectives’ by Douglas Comer, ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Archaeological Heritage Management were made. The conference followed with sessions in these topics: legal framework and management of the archaeological heritage, access to the information and public archaeology, cultural tourism and archaeological heritage preservation, use and abuse the legislation: looting and trading antiquities. At the conference teacher of Azerbaijan Teachers‘ Institute, chairman of MIRAS, PhD Fariz Khalilli and chief department, researcher-translator Shola Bayramova made a report on 'research and conservation of public buildings in Medieval Agsu Town' and deputy chairman, researcher-journalist Arzu Soltan on 'access to the information and public archaeology in the Medieval Agsu Archaeological Tourism Complex'.
Scholars from Romania, Czech Republic, Moldova, India, Italy, Russia, Portugal, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Brazil, US and other countries made interesting reports during the conference.
Conference participants carried out study trips to Cucuteni and Cotnari sites, Monastery Probota, Medieval Fortress Neamt and Cucuteni museum in Piatra Neamț.
