Jabiyev Gafar Jafar oglu was born in Talistan village of Ismayilli region in 1950. He entered History faculty of Ganga Pedagogical University in 1969 and graduated with honours diploma in 1973. 

Jabiyev Gafar Jafar oglu was born in Talistan village of Ismayilli region in 1950. He entered History faculty of Ganga Pedagogical University in 1969 and graduated with honours diploma in 1973. He worked as a history teacher in Talistan village secondary school of Ismayilli region in 1973-1974, and a chief of letters section in the region’s “Zehmetkesh” Newspaper in 1974-1976. He was a secretary responsible of “Bilik” society Ismayilli regional Committee in 1977-1978, an instructor in Azerbaijan CP Ismayilli regional committee in 1978-1980 and deputy editor in “Zehmetkesh” newspaper in 1980-1981. He entered graduate-course of NASA Institute of History in 1980. He worked in positions like head laboratory assistant, junior scientific worker, scientific worker, and head scientific worker in Archaeology and Ethnography Department of NASA Institute of History in 1981-1990. In 1985 he got an academic degree of history candidate maintaining a dissertation thesis in a scientific council of Ukraine Archaeology Institute in 1985. He was own correspondent of “Azerbaijan” newspaper on Balaken-Shaki zone in 1999-2003. He was simultaneously engaged in pedagogical activity as a senior lecturer of Shaki affiliate of BSU in that period. He was appointed a member of National Television and Radio Council for 4 years due to the decree of President of the Azerbaijan Republic in 2003. Later he was again appointed a member of National Television and Radio Council for 6 years due to the decree of President of the Azerbaijan Republic in 2007. He maintained candidacy dissertation in 1985, whereas he maintained Doctor Degree thesis in 2008. He is an author of 5 monographers, over 100 scientific, 300 scientific and publicist articles. He is prize-winner of “Golden Pen” award. He is married. He has 2 children. He is a chief of Agsu Archaeological Expedition at present.
