International Conference held in Partnership with MIRAS in Macedonia

At the conference, reports on protection and presentation of cultural heritage through media, presentation of cultural heritage for tourism purposes, economic impact from cultural heritage and tourism, digitalization of cultural heritage as touristic products, cultural Heritage, social networks and “new media”, rural tourism and local economic development, tourism and local economic development were delivered. 

 3rd international conference “Ohrid –Vodici, 2015” on topic “Rethinking the Framework of Interdisciplinary cooperation between Cultural Heritage, Local Economic Development, Tourism and Media” was co-organized on 17-18 January, 2015 in Ohrid city by Institute for Socio-Cultural Anthropology of Macedonia, University for Audio- Visual Arts “ESRA”,Centre for Scientific Research and Promotion of Culture “HAEMUS” and MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage.
The conference launched with photo-exposition “St. Sofia Church: from Ohrid to Polosk” by Belarus on 17th January, 2015. To note, each country every year can hold such an exhibition and in 2014 there was held an exhibition on Azerbaijani cultural heritage. At the opening ceremony director of Institute for Socio-Cultural Anthropology of Macedonia, Dr. Rubin Zemon; deputy of Ohrid city major, Angel Janev; chairman of MIRAS Social Organization, Dr. Fariz Khalilli; Professor of University for Audio- Visual Arts “ESRA”, Miso Netkov; chairman of Centre for Scientific Research and Promotion of Culture “HAEMUS”, Vasilka Dimitrovska; deputy chairman of National Television and Radio Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Gafar Jabiyev made a speech and others welcomed the participants. There was stressed that the third conference is already spread throughout the world.
Researchers and scholars from 14 countries including Macedonia, Albania, Russia, Lithuania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Belarus, Poland and others participated there. Azerbaijan was represented by nearly 15 scholars and researchers from various educational institutions and universities. Along with that the people collaborated with MIRAS also joined the event.
From Azerbaijan, Gafar Jabiyev (The role of the televisions in protection and promotion of historical cultural heritage of Azerbaijan), Prof.Dr. Kubra Aliyeva (The ways of struggle against "Evil" and their symbols in archaeology, art and mythology of Azerbaijan ), Dr. Habiba Aliyeva (The role of museums in the protection of cultural heritage and problems), Dr. Nazmin Jafarova (National Museums of Azerbaijan), Dr. Goyarchin Mustafayeva (Alone, forgotten and plundered poet), Dr. Kamila Mehdiyeva (Azerbaijani terekemes and carperts), Tarana Mammadova (Cultural heritage of Ismayilly and tourism), Nigar Karimova (promotion of historical monuments from tourism aspect), researcher from Czech Republic, Galina Wood (Enlivening Lahij heritage) spoke. The presentation of project “clean village-protection of ecological and ethnographic identity with participation of local communes and sustainable development” by financial support of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was done from the aspect of coincidence with the corresponding law of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The participants from different countries took interest in the experience of the project and expressed their wish to continue this in their countries.
